Click the link above to download the 2025-26 OBHS Jazz Band Audition Excerpts. Record a video of you playing the required audition excerpt and submit the video and form below by May 16th.
Below are audio links to recording samples of the full songs that contain the audition excerpts. These recordings can be used as practice tools and to give students a better feel for the styles of each excerpt.
- You are welcome to use a metronome while recording, but you are not required.
- Tempo markings are listed on each excerpt and should be followed to the best of your ability.
- Only submit one video unless you are auditioning for multiple instruments.
- Please email Mr. Reeves with any questions at [email protected].
- All Saxophone auditions should play the excerpt marked "Alto Sax".
- Bass auditions may be performed on upright or electric bass.
